Autism in Schools Project
Bursar Academy are proud to be involved in the local Autism in Schools project. The aim of this project is to refine and develop the availiable support for pupils with Autism and their families in mainstream schools.
As part of this project, all staff at Bursar have participated in a range of training around Autism and co-curring conditions such as ADHD and Anxiety. We strive to be an Autism friendly school and work closely in partnership with parents to ensure that they and their children have access to the support they need.
We also recognise that due to challenges around diagnosis in our local area that some parents may feel their child has Autism or traits of Autism but do not have a diagnosis. It is important to note that we do not require a diagnosis to provide support for children or their families.

The Autism in School's project has now finished however we're looking to set up a parent/carer and school forum following the style of the Parents Supporting Parents meetings. This will be called SPACE.

Autism in Schools Project Audit
Please see our school audit below. We've worked hard to ensure that we are offering the best provision that we can for children with Autism and other neuro-diverse needs and will continue to work closely with the other schools in the project to develop this even further.
