At Bursar Primary Academy, we pride ourselves on delivering a broad and balanced curriculum. We have cultivated an inspiring and engaging curriculum which enthuses our pupils in order to develop a curiosity and thirst for learning. The carefully sequenced knowledge and skills are creatively crafted while reflecting the expectations of the National Curriculum ensuring we have solid coverage. Each project builds on from lesson to lesson, and year group to year group, ensuring children are deepening their knowledge as well as revisiting skills. Daily ‘simmering’ activities embed ‘sticky’ knowledge and the purposeful teaching of vital skills are then applied along their curriculum journey of discovery and exploration. A rich vocabulary is a priority for our children, through the teaching of new concepts, rich and topical vocabulary is introduced regularly so the understanding and application of these key words is at the forefront of our teaching.

Our vision for our children is to develop them as not only local but national and global citizens. By developing a rich culture capital through topics, texts and experiences, we can broaden aspirations, expose the children to more life opportunities and encourage children to embrace all cultures and backgrounds from an educated perspective.
