Rowan Class have settled well into the new school year and are already working hard across all areas of learning. In Maths, we have been focusing on place value, using Base 10 equipment and counters to help us represent, compare and understand numbers. In English, we have enjoyed reading The Land of Roar and have been developing our creative writing by using -ing sentences and expanded noun phrases to create detailed descriptions.

The children have responded positively to our new spelling scheme and are becoming more confident in applying new spelling patterns. In Reading, they have demonstrated strong skills when exploring both fiction and non-fiction texts, while continuing to broaden their vocabulary knowledge.

A particular highlight so far has been our Ancient Egyptian workshop, where the children had the opportunity to immerse themselves in history through engaging activities and hands-on learning.

Our Year 4 pupils are making excellent progress in swimming lessons, while our Year 3 pupils have shown great effort and enthusiasm during PE.

We are looking forward to an exciting year of learning ahead!
