Pine Class have settled well into the new school year and are already working hard across all areas of learning. In Maths, we have been focusing on place value, using rekenreks, tens frames and counters to help us recognise, count and understand number. In English, we have enjoyed reading The Owl Babies and have been developing speaking skills to retell the story. We have developed our writing by using adjectives to describe the owls.

The children have responded positively to our new spelling scheme and are becoming more confident in applying new spelling patterns. In Read, Write Inc the children continue to build their phonics skills and understanding and have been encouraged to read words ‘at a glance’ to build fluency.

We have loved exploring the art work of Wassily Kandinsky and are in the process of producing some incredible pieces of collage. We can't wait to share the finished pieces.

The children in Pine Class have shown great effort and enthusiasm during PE.
