Week 2

The local PCSOs came to talk to us about road safety and we practised crossing the road safely at a crossing.

Week 3

We have been learning about the life cycle of a butterfly. The caterpillars we have been looking after have now turned into beautiful Painted Lady butterflies. We are excited to release them.

Summer 2 Week 1

We loved playing the drums and ukulele in our music lesson this week. We have some promising musicians in our midst.

Week 5

We have enjoyed our Twist and Flip gymnastics sessions.  We were practising our cartwheels and handstands this week.

In Maths we have been learning to order 3 numbers up to 20 using different apparatus. We used digit cards, numicon and base 10.

Week 4

We have been very lucky this week to have had a visiting theatre group in school. They put on a performance of the Jungle Book. It was amazing!

 In Maths we have been learning about less than and greater than.

Spring Term Week 1

We have loved doing gymnastics this week. We learnt how to do a pike, a straddle, a squat and a teddy bear roll.

We have been busy learning to count to 20 and all about the number 10 this week. We know that there are 10 ones in 1 ten.

Week 3

We had great fun looking for Pudsey Bear. He was hiding in the school when it was Children in Need.

We have been learning to use digital drawing tools in our computing lessons. This week we used the shape tool to create our own piece of abstract art in the style of Kandinsky.

Week 2

We had a visit from the dental nurse. She was telling us all about our teeth and how to look after them.

Dogs Trust came to visit to tell us about how to take care of a dog.

Autumn 2- Week 1

We have been learning about Kandinsky in Art and visited the Bursar Art Gallery to explore pieces of art by this artist.

Week 6

In maths we have been learning about more than, less than and equal to.

We have been learning about the 7 continents and 5 oceans in geography this week. We loved learning the continents song.

Week 5

We love exploring numbers in maths. We are making

numbers with 5 and a bit.

We have had great fun learning to use the glockenspiel in  our music lessons.

We have loved learning about the Great FIre of London and have made some amazing models. 

Week 4

We have been learning about amphibians in science this week. We know what they need to survive. 

Week 3

We have been busy with our learning in maths this week. 

Week 2

We have been very busy in Pine Class this week.

In Maths we have been representing the number of objects with counters on a tens frame

In History we have been learning about how the Great Fire of London started. We had fun being the Londoners trying to put out the fire by carrying full buckets from the River Thames.

KS1 - Autumn 1 - Week 1

We have had such a wonderful first week together! We have a class of superstars.

In Read Write Inc, we have been consolidating and learning our sounds. This will occur daily over the term,  helping us improve our fluency. In writing, we have been practicing our transcription and formation of letters. We tried so hard with this!

In maths, we have been learning about ‘place value’, in which we are improving our counting ability and recognition of numbers. In science, our lessons have been about living things and their habitats. Children are now able to identify mammals, carnivores, herbivores and omnivores.

In history, we have been focusing on the Great Fire of London. The children have learnt some amazing facts. They know all about where the fire started and why the fire spread so quickly.

I can't wait to see what the rest of the term brings!
